My 1995 s-class heater has stopped working after I used a stop leak product in my radiator. The blower fan works fine but no hot air is being pumped out.
Any ideas?
The radiator leak is fixed but I am freezing my **** off as the British winter sets in.
There is a valve called the duo-valve (or dual-valve) that
regulates the amount of coolant flowing through the heater core. Perhaps you gummed up this valve with the stop-leak. The valve is located in the engine compartment, if I recall correctly, on top of the left side front fender well just behind the suspension fluid reservior.
I did this same idiotic thing (hey, I can point out my own stupidity) without referring to my mechanic first- same result[:I] Brett is exactly correct. My mechanic got in there and picked out those pellets from the valve, and informed me I got lucky. GET IT TO THE SHOP, QUICK, if you don't know how to do this. Cost me about $150+ in labor and in a valve he canniblized that he had laying around. I took it as a gift. You will too if they get it working again in the middle of winter, like what happened to me. I watched him do the whole thing, but couldn't recreate the repair to save my life. In the end, I went out and got a new rad like I should have in the first place. The systems of the W140 are WAY too complex to pour stop-leak in. They also mention some kinda of screen filter in there they were still praying I hadn't messed up. Luckily, it wasn't. Good luck!

Never use any bandaid on your car, especially a W140. Cars heal only by replacement, not regeneration. Fix it right in the first place. The satisfaction of a job done right outweighs the money saved and the pain of the repercussions.
