I have 1994 S500 and 2000 S430.
Few questions,will appreciate if you could answer them .
1) How much milage at 1994 S500 should give ? I get like 12 miles/gallon and i drive mostly in the city. is that acceptable?
2) What is the best place to get the mercedes servicing done?
Mercedes dealer or any repair shop ? Are these mercedes dealer pretty expensive? My mechanic charges me $60 for oil change, every 3000 miles.
10,000 miles service- $300
30,000 miles service - $600
Are these prices good or should I look around?
3) When is oil change due for 1994 S500? is it need to be changed every 3000 miles?
What about 2000 S430, mercedes dealer told me that you need to change only after 10,000 miles for 2000 S430 , because they use synthetic oil?
I don't understand this

My dealer tells me the oil only needs to be changed every 10,000 miles. That's not acceptable to me. Even with it being synthetic I say the minimum should be at least every 5,000 with everyday driving.
Your prices you listed for service don't sound bad at all. Your gas mileage sounds about the same as most. Its a heavy car with a big engine.
I do my own oil and filter changes and use Mobil synthetic. I run 10W-30 in my S420.
