How Do I unlock my telephone?

Hi everyone,
My wife is driving our 199 S 420 and the phone is locked. I would like to unlock it so she can dial 911 if she needs to. The phone is an Oki.

If anyone wants to sell the phone they have I would also consider purchasing.

Mercedes says they dont have the code to unlock the phone, and Oki is out of business.

RE: How Do I unlock my telephone?

I have the Oki phone and the charger and all as it came from when I bought the car. If you still want to use the old anolog tech which I don't know who would offer anymore. To be honest with you, I don't think it worth to keep it or get another one. Anolog has roaming charges and what's not. You're better off with a newer digi phone IMO.

I can't unlock my oki phone with these codes, I locked the phone by pressing the "LOK" button, and can't unlock it. When entering the codes should I see the nubers in the screen, with my phone the keypad is locked and cant seem to input anything

You sure you've got a sim card in it?

that phone will not work even if you unlock it, that phone uses analog TDMA signal that has been out of service in almost the entire US since late 2007, some areas started phasing out the analog TDMA as early as 2002.

get an old cell phone and leave it in the car, it will do the 911 deal.

Bayhas is correct, OKi, Motorola and other analog phones were almost impossible to get activated as of 8 years ago. The cellular carriers were supporting some existing customers, and allowing some activity for 911. They were not activating some digital phones recently including MotorolaTimeports that were installed by MB in the early 2000s. As of the spring this year the analog channels are shutting down with the FCCs permission. That is the reason that Tel-Aid equipment has to be replaced. I think sleepwalker is correct about the #s, you could change the lock code yourself and sometimes the last 4 numbers of the phone number was used. I would get a hand held, the recent ones are 911 compliant without subscribing for service. It appears the world wide standard is going GSM and those have "sim cards".
You can get extra space by removing the equipment!

The world wide standard has been GSM for years...where has the US been I'm amazed to find out a phone in that car won't have space for a sim card.
