It is quite easy to take out the module (climate control box) from the console, but as soon as you will be able to pull it out, you would need an electronic technician to open and solder new bulbs into the board, if you are capable of soldering, just pry open thru the small hole on each side of the module by inserting a small srew driver one at a time and slowly take off the bottom plate, same goes with the front face which can only be access when you have done the first step, then you will visually see the bulbs, remeber to markwhich bulbs are out first before you take them out of the consule, good luck.
You do not have to solder or desolder bulbs on a 1995 S W140. I would be very surprised if the 94's were different. You must remove the entire module from the console. It's a little tricky, you have to disengage the door flap lever from the module to pull it out. Disassemble the temperature adjustment knob assembly from the module. Then remove the cover to gain access to the bulbs. They are bayonet style, and can be pulled out using minimal pressure and a needle nose pliers. Use MB bulb # 002 544 02 94. This is the original part number. The superceded bulb MB says to use is too dim.
