mine has gone pop - and after some extensive research with the epc - the new S class and new E class (v8) boxes are IDENTICAL - except the bellhousing (you can use the old 420 one)
the part numbers are different, but if you want to do the research yourself, you will find that the difference is two or three shafts have changed - BUT - those shafts are the NEW part numbers for the old 'box. i.e. MB upgraded bits slowly, and gave the new box a new number.
be careful - we bought one off a new S class with 50k miles on the clock - and when we opened it, it was knackered.. [:0]
