ABS/ASR warning lamps

For some reason all of a sudden these lamps will not go off on my 92 600SEL. Neither will the snow chain switch (which I think one of my kids might have depressed) switch off - could this have triggered the other lamps? Has made the car drive sluggishly, accelerator needs force. HELP!!

RE: ABS/ASR warning lamps

My common experience of ASR/ABS lights stays on typically mean you have to check your battery.

First shut off engine and wait a miniute then start engine again. If lights goes off, congraturations!!

If not check your battery power reserve. First how old is your battery ? If more than 4 years, most likely battery replacement will solve the problem.

ASR/ABS will not work at below certain voltage.

If none of above work, your ASR/ABS system have major problem. Probably need professional assistance.

Keep your finger crossed...

By the way what part of Australia are you living ?

look into the throttle switch (at the pedal) and the brake light switch. these are the most common 2 things.

How difficult is it to get to the throttle switch? Do you have any pictures of the part and location? Thanks
