My reverse antena sensors will not go down into place. I have checked them and don't seem to understand why. They were working before but from one day to another they justed stayed up. If any one can give some info. on how to solve the problem, it is "GREATLY" appreciated.

I have a 94 S and on my car the backup antennas are electric. There has to be some switch that activates them when you put the car in reverse. check around transmission and at antennas themselves.
I recently did some trouble-shooting on my vacuum system and I can tell you the backup rods, gas door lock, trunk release, trunk lid handle, lumbar, door locks were all controlled via the pump. To raise the backup rods, the pump has to blow pressure to the rods. To lower the rods, the pump has to create vacuum by sucking the rods back down. If you have a leak in the system, it will prevent different items from functioning. In my case, the trunk lid handle wasn't extending when the trunk was open. I could hear a whinning noise for about 10 - 20 seconds after the trunk was opened that was the pump trying to push the lid handle out. After a period of time, the pump circuit gives up if it can't perform the action. It turned out that the gas door lock diaphram had developed a leak. I replaced the diaphram and it solved my problem.
Your problem may be a faulty part in the system (maybe even the pump) or a leaking, loose, or disconnected hose. If other things like the door locks and lumbar still work, then it is probably not the pump but another part in the system.
Thankx to all of you, you have been much help. I took the car in to a place here called mbz motors, all they do is work on mercedes, they checked out the problem and it it definetly the pump that is located under the rear passanger seat.
