There is no CUP holder.. for the driver, There is one for the passenger in the glove box.. The RED light on the switch with the tyre on is your traction control telling you its working..The central locking will not open the trunk for you.. you have to do that yourself..Welcome to the land of Mercedes..Enjoy your stay...

The cupholder for passenger only is located at the back of the glovebox compartment. Open the glovebox and lift the cover that is attached to the back of the door.
The button with the tire picture is your traction control switch. If you press it and a red light lights up, it tells yout the system is OFF ! Press the switch again to turn it on (the red light should go off). An orange triangle on your speedometer will tell you when the system is operational. If the triangle is lighted constantly, it remainds yout that the system is either off or there is a malfunction.
U.S. market W140s had a trunk opening switch on the central console which was later (I think after 1997) standarized on the rest of the world to open the trunk from the inside. Although, I believe this system was first fitted in the U.S. on 1995 models. You may have a very late 1994 with this feature installed.
