SQUEAKY BLOWER MOTOR

On my 98 s420 when I turn on my a/c and adjust speed of the blow, the motor begins squeaking. Sometimes it stops and start and again especialy when I hit a bump. I was thinking the blower motor is going bad.

RE: SQUEAKY BLOWER MOTOR

you can't buy the bushings. oil the top and bottom one and take a soda bottle cap, run a small bead of silicone sealant around the edge. place it down over the top bushing. this makes a great "umbrella". the water that caused the bushing to start locking is from the drains of the inlet distributor being clogged. the inlet distributor is the cover that you removed to access the filter. the drains hoses are clogged or crimped due to improper installation. "clean the cause"... ps. the locking blower will cause the blower module to run even hotter than it normally does. not a good thing...

RE: SQUEAKY BLOWER MOTOR

I have looked into replacing the bushings with bearings and have found some compatible sizes but just don't have the time. So I just ordered a replacement blower motor today from Benzbin. Total with shipping is about $165. Here is a link to some bearings.
