Sometime during 97 model production the factory introduced the split

center armrest that has cupholders in one side of it, the phone in the other. (At least for US models) I checked with a dealer, and getting the split armrest with cupholders new would run around US$2100. I'm holding out hope for finding a salvage one that I can have reupholstered in matching leather.

Check ebay or autotrader.com to try to find interior pics of the split armrest.

Wow -- Guess I'm lucky!

I have dual cup holders in the center console. I wouldn't think of using the glove compartment holder. That's why we have passengers?! [8)]

RE: very confused

Not all split armrests have the cupholders installed - it was apparently an option! You can buy the cupholders (just a plastic insert) and screw them in though.

The part number (in the UK anyway) is B 66 92 0100.
