exhaust smell in cabin

Has anyone's W140 suffered from this? Not sure where to start looking, but it seems to be becoming more noticeable. Happens when aircond/airflow is both on and not on. Hard to tell where it is coming from! Mine is a 92 600SEL. Grateful for any views.

RE: exhaust smell in cabin

Mine is also a 600SEL and i have the same problem. However my rubber seal under the top air intake louvres on the bonnet is distorted thus allowing fumes to enter the car!I have yet to order one but i don't think were talking telephone numbers - probably a few pounds only!Hope this is of some help.[:)]

RE: exhaust smell in cabin

I saw someone's thread saying they had a rip in the rubber boot sealing the steering wheel shaft to the firewall. Fumes were coming in to the passenger compartment through there.
