1994 S600 coupe "Vacuum assist pump problem and now a starting problem

I have a 94 s600 coupe with a bad vacuum assist pump
and now the car has a starting problem. I ordered the pump and I installed a new battery, the car started just fine with the new battery, I let it run for about ten minutes shut it off, tried to re-start it and nothing. The car won't start but when I jump it, it starts and runs, so I know the alternator is good. Could this be caused by the vacuum assist pump?
Has anyone ever had such a problem? Please let me know.
Thank You
Paul

i personaly think the alternator is not as good as you think, the battery is not getting a charge check all the wires form the alternator to the battery and the grounds/earths

[:(]
What do you mean by nothing. Is there no click when you turn the key no starter sound or just dead silence?
Maybe it is your starter solenoid.

It cranks once and then clicks, you hear the starter. It sounds like it ran out of juice.[?][B)][:(]

I dont think the two are related..
take the battery off the car and charge it..
then try again..
Do not try to jump start with another battery.. It can give all sorts of silly probs..

RE: 1994 S600 coupe "Vacuum assist pump problem and now a starting problem

I took the battery out and charged it the car started and ran just fine but when I shut the car off, it wouldn't start again so I gave it a jump and it ran for at least 20 minutes. When I went to shut it off and re-start it again I had the same problem it needed another jump. I can do this over and over again and nothing. Mind you that the vacuum pump is not installed2 just yet. This problem dint start happening intil the pump started going bad. could there be a problem with the pump causing the problem?
It is really driiving me nuts. Any help would be great.
Thank You.

Maybe faulty battery? Try taking the battery back and convince them to give you and exchange. If second battery does same thing, then obviously not the battery. If you have done multiple repairs recently, try to restore the car to condition prior to having this battery problem to try and isolate.

Try using a voltmeter to check the voltage at the battery when the car is both running and off. Depending on the outcome, if the alternator appears good, I would have the battery "load" tested.

Be sure and check for "loose" ground connections throughout your electrical system too.
