Tyres
Just had a look at the Big O Tyres invoice:
2 Yokohama 245/45/19 YDK Advanced 98Y
2 Yokohama 275/40/19 YDK Advanced 105Y
My other W140 came with 22"'s and they did not rub. However, there is a three option adjustment for the rear which allows for greater distance between the tyre and wheel arch. I had it adjusted to the highest option on my S-500, but after only a brief drive in the S-600 in the central position there was no rubbing.
Hope that clarifies things a bit.
Cheers,
R.

Wow. I didn't know that! If that can be done, that can open up a new world of tire choices. I 've my 19's, hated having only a sliver of rubber protecting them. Whats a ball park (US) of what this adjustment would cost?

I had this done during a routine service at my local stealership and they charged me nothing to make the adjustment. It doesn't take more than about 10 minutes to make the adjustment, according to my service advisor.
I only learned of this option after complaining to my advisor that my tyres rubbed and what were my options. Apparantly green mechanics and advisors do not even know of this simple adjustment.
Best wishes,
R.
