After having owned a few S-500’s, I have dreamt of stepping up to an S-600. I local fellow here in Los Angeles had a very clean 1998 S-600 on offer back in January. I drove the car and had W.I. Simonson Stealership go over it and declare it a very good example. I was ready to buy so I snatched it up, although silver was not my first colour choice.
Brought the car into my local paint and body shop and let them go to work on it. Almost seven months later it’s two days away from coming home. It just needs a good wash and detail by them.
Complete body strip down including the removing of front quarter panels, front and rear bumpers which we tossed and replaced with a Lorinzer body kit, doors, hood, fuel door and all glass came out and complete respray to change body colour from silver to black. Replaced headlamps with Brabus style xenon lamps, LED rears, integrated signal lamps in side view mirrors, Brabus 19” wheels with new tyres.
Only a few small additions such as window tint and Alpine navigation system but otherwise a job well done.
First the interior now with the re-dyed seats, I was not so keen on the two-tone look, just a personal choice, and the interior before, of note the silver colour.
The paint work in progress and lastly the Lorinzer body kit in primer.
it looks very nice with the new color
but those 19' Brabus looks like 18, I dont know why
I hear you. Perhaps it's the crap mobile phone snaps, or the fact I stay as far away from low profile tyres as possible due to the rotten roads and rotten ride quality I get from them. But in person they don't look so anemic and when I had the tyres mounted I confirmed with Big Tyres the wheel size.
I will be lowering the front ever so slightly as previously the car had 18" rims on it.
