I am surely not speaking for others. But my 500 came with 22" rims and I didn't like the quality of the ride nor the fact that our awful canyon roads between the San Fernando Valley and the Bel Air/Beverly Hills side of the hills are full of potholes and I blew out tyres not once but twice. The size I am at now is for me a good compromise. It it bigger than standard, but still feels good on the road without being too rough and I don't have too low profile tyres which blow out and leave me stranded.
Just my 2 bob worth.
Although, I have 22" HRE's on my G-Wagon and they look the bees knees.
Now that i've seen a black 140 with those wheels, i'm considering getting the same style... see, that particular style can be had on eBay for relatively cheap, so that's why i was curious... price wise, it's a far better deal for a nice set of wheels compared to paying for genuine the AMG 220's i'd like to get...
I think i'd still rather have the AMG's though, we'll see how things go.
By the way, beautiful W140, looks GREAT, and i'm liking the stereo setup, now that i've seen that with the little holder for iPod to the right, i'm thinking about doing the same thing with my iPhone. Think i might go for a Mercedes stereo instead of aftermarket though.
And here's a question: are those rear windscreen spoilers functional AT ALL? or is it simply for style?

kevinpuri, youre a good person to ask this question about.
Does the '93 give you a different vibe when you drive/ride it compared to the '95?
I've always read people making comparisons between the old and new w140's and they say the difference(not just the build quality but the overall feeling) is noticeable.
Oh and sorry for not posting pics. I'll be washing my baby tomorrow so ill upload some new ones for ya

The 1993 definitely does give off a heavier more solid feel then the 1995. This however is hard for me to answer due to the fact that the 93 has only 160 km on it and 95 has 212 km. When driving the 93 the steering and suspension do seem more solid then the 95. Again this might just be the difference in use and mileage. IMO the plastic's used in certian areas are of a better quality in the 1993. There are also a number of small things that show a cheaper construction, one that gets to me is the trunk handle that pops in and out is metal in the 93 and plastic in the 95.
Pics from a month or two back. Just received a new usb cable making my camera useful again to replace the one that people lost . Anyway this was when some light fresh snow just dropped. Nothing special , had the camera on me and just thought the car looked nice w/ all the white and silver. (esspecially the first shot... )
great looking 140! do you have tint on all 4 windows? if so what %? maby is it just the angle of the photos but the gap between you headlights and hood seems larger then norm?

Thanks kevinpuri...
Yup 20% all around and 5% in the back. combined with the OEM gloss tint on the windows that comes on these cars it looks very dark. ( on my next car i probably will go full limo tint on a all black car, love tints)
When its not to bright outside people think my windshield is tinted also due but it just seems that way since no light enters the inside .
As far as the gap it just looks that way. When i was working on my headlights i completely removed them and put it back and i believe what you see is that black rubber that is popped in right above the headlight where the hood comes down on it. it may be a half inch or so too far farward making it peek out like that when looking at the car from that angle.
Personally i like it. Gives the headlights this weird human quality like they are looking at you lol.
