However, I think if I just do a couple things like new wheels and tires (similar to obie1's ), maybe add a nav, then it will almost seem like a new car to me and I'll let the ML350 stay home a few days a week!
Great forum, glad to have discovered it doing a search for "mercedes ipod" a few days ago...
hmm, I'm sure we'd all love to see some pics. Sounds like an awesome car, even if it is stock... yeah, if you have one in mint condition, you should just keep it, especially since by this time you have spent money repairing it. Most used cars are troublesome, but once you've personally maintained a car for a few years, it remains pretty reliable... Not to mention that there is nothing on the road today that seems to have the look and feel of the W140. They are really amazing cars.
Yeah, once you get the rims and tires it will look great. You should also get an S600 style grille. They are only about $100, and make a huge difference, IMO. There are also numerous chrome and wood kits avalible for the W140, and they really bring the car up to a whole new level.

All righty, since this is called the "Official W140 Picture thread" I will have to pretty up the S420 sometime soon for a photo shoot (hopefully this California heat wave ends soon) but like I said, it's all stock so it's definitely overshadowed by most here. Even the stereo system is stock.

When I first got into Mercedes cars I was amazed, it seems like every Mercedes has some modifications to suit the owner.
Some go real crazy and spend $20K in new Brabus leather, or $20 on different tires and wheels, and the AMG people think nothing on replacing those beautiful Brembo brakes with another $15K set with even more pistons and rotors bigger than the stock wheels.
Amazing and FUN.
Certainly I could never have a stock MB, well maybe the new Black series CLK63

The last 14 posts have consisted of 1 pic post 13 discussions. One was about Ebay and parts and some of the talk has even been an actual DESCRIPTION of a W140. Lets get this back to PHOTOS. They don't play this over in the W124 pic posts. Just so I can stay consistent, here is a pic.

yeah, don't worry. Once you start modding it, you will most likely once again fall in love with your car , and upgrade it a lot...

Thank you very much for that Ackvig. I guess we all get carried away with W140's
