the sound system in the W140 is incredible! i know my brother and i annoy everyone in our neighborhood with it when we drive around haha. everything is great from the bass to mid-range. not sure on an exact speaker count but i believe its something around 10...you can never be disappointed with BOSE :-)
Not to sound pessimistic but I Really don't like the bose system in these cars.. It's OK, but it's not great.. You can do a Lot better w/ your own install. IMHO the lows just about drown out every other frequency...the sound stage is OK but nothing fabulous. My Mobile ES install in my 91 sounds Far better as does my vintage HK setup in my 87...far more accurate reproduction, crisp, clear and with a sound state the envelops you.

See I don't think I have the Bose as I had Balplunkt components in my car and the sound in those is VERY clear.
ive always heard bad things about balplunkt...i assume your telling me the rumors are false?
Considering that I had my Cd stacker and headunit removed because of someone wiring them into the car all to hell for some reason, but whilst I had them and they were working it was pretty good.

-fixed stereo problem by replacing antenna and adding stock CD Changer(sounded like crap before with FM CD Changer)
-it would have clear corners already if some dick would've sent them.
-headlight protection
-a really good detailing job, courtesy of a happy owner

-fuel filter, cabin filter, air filter, oil change
The tranny was serviced recently. All the electronic stuff works, including door & trunk assists. The A/C evaporator/compressor have been done. It's almost perfect.
I love her. I hope she loves me back (all my fingers, toes, limbs are crossed).
