My current 140 is "Kelly" my green 400SEL. But I just had to show all of you a photo of a 140 I used to own. It was a 1994 S420. It is a very special photo for me. For it shows me (and my Mary Emma) crossing the finish line at the Indianapolis 500 Raceway in my beautiful black 140 we named "Fancy". Fancy was just that! Anyway...the photo was taken during the 2002 Mercedes-Benz Club of America "Starfest Rally". The Starfest Rally Concours Show was held in the Raceway in-field. Fancy was on display and won judged as a winner at that time. Immediately after the judging, all of the cars in the Concours were allowed to take one lap around the Indy track. What a thrill!!! Odd thing was...you could not speed! They had Track Security cars parked all along the route and we were continually cautioned to stay under 35 MPH. When each car crossed the red bricks at the finish line a photographer snapped a photo. Attached here is the photo of Fancy, me and Mary Emma (hard to see). I hope you enjoy it. It is a proud 140 moment!
