Hi
I have just put 20 inch chrome Lowenhart LDR's on my car , 9x20 with 245/35 in the front and 10x20 with 255/35 in the back.
I used these tyres because they didn't have the 265/35 , which I always use with the 20's.
I think there is too much gap between the fenders and the tyres so I will upgrade the tyres to 265/35 soon . I also think the 20's are not big enough for me, so I'm getting ready for the 22's, which are on their way( except 1 piece & you can read about that in my other thread)I think it looks smaller because of the lip, than e.g a 20 inch Lorinser D93 wheel.
We tried 21 Giopvanna's with 245/35 on without any problem , and tried the 21's with 264/40!!! ,which is more than an inch bigger in diameter than the 22's with 265/30 tyres, and the 21's with the 265/40 were just a tiny little bit bigger than it should have been.
So I think there will be no problem with the 22 inch LDR's.I can't wait to put the 22's on.
What do you think are these big enough , or am I just going crazy??
I forgot to mention , that the ride quality is better than with the 18" rims ! Really ! Smother , better on bumps... Suprised.
Maaaan, sportster, that car is PERFECT. Leave it as is. If you DO switch rims, then get a no-lip 20", not a 22". Yeah, they may not have the full effect as a flat faced 20", but 22" MAY, (according to which rim you'd pick) may start taking it into the "clown car" look, where the wheels start looking REALLY out of porportion. Kinda works on a classic Olds 442 or an '83 Buick Regal, but not an S. AGAIN, this would all depend on the wheel you picked.
