I just discovered that the flasher doesn't work on my 97 S320! The high beam works fine when you push the stalk away, but when you pull it towards you, it doesnt flash!!
I have the same problem. I played around with the stalk, and after pulling it towards me several hundred times[:)], I got the high beams to flash. It promptly stopped working again the next day. I'm guessing that the contacts in the combination switch are crudded up or something. Someday I'll fix it, but I wonder if should bother...too many left lane morons in the US don't know what flashing high beams mean anyway[xx(].

"Speed is just a question of money...how fast you wanna go?"
I thought it would be in the fuse box. Checked the fuse and thats OK... the same fuse (15 in my box) controls other stuff (radio etc) too which is working fine!
I have the same problem on my 94' S420 and also want to find out if there is an easy way to solve it. I checked fuse this morning, it is OK. But I don't know where the relay is. Plus, I heard the cover under steering can be opened to check connection of wiring. But don't know how. If someone can post instruction or pictures to help us to solve this headache will be great.
At the rear of the large fuse box in the engine bay there are a few relays. The one you want is labelled N10.This is the one for turn/hazard signal, heated rear window and wiper motor.I have had 3 w140's and this relay has had to be changed on all of them!It only affects the indicators though?!!!!Strange.[:0]
