Front Door Panel Removal

How do I remove the front door panel? The wooden strip on the driver side door panel has come loose on the latch side of the door..it looks as though a nut has backed of from behind the panel. Also, the hinged armrest lid on the driver side panel is loose and will not stay shut..whenever you shut the door or turn a sharp curve, it'll swing open.

RE: Front Door Panel Removal

the wood strip is indeed held on with bolts / nuts - 8mm spanner required.

three phillips screws on the later ones - one inside arm rest (vertical, under small cover) one under arm rest (under 1" diameter plug) and one behind SRS badge (you wont have this badge) - but the screw is roughly where your elbow joint would be when sitting normally, about 3" above arm rest.

sorry i dont know the pre facelift version

RE: Front Door Panel Removal

The seat control panel has to come off since there is a screw behind it. Thake something narrow (someone used a feeler guage) to slide along the back edge (under the door handle) there are (2)little tabs that need to be rotated (sviveled) out of the way. The panel is held on the front by a spring, so once the rears are free it will come out. There are covered screws inside the arm rest bin. The triangle pops off, the snaps arond the sides and bottom pop off the wiring unplugs, lift panel up and away, watch the door release cable. It is heavy, probably a three handed job!
