I just replaced the odometer backlight in my instrument cluster. Very easy!
10 min. job. I had previously gotten a quote from a shop for about $100 for replacement. Talk about profit margin. I got a good hint from alldatadiy. It said to pull only one side at a time with the hooks. It definitely made it a more controlled maneuver to pull out the cluster. You've got to be careful pushing it back in so as not to abraid the leather around the cluster. Mine was already damaged unfortunately. Another fix for later.

I Assume you bought the tool to do this. Can you let me know from where you bought it, and where you bought the odometer lights? I need to do this on my 96 S320
