Tie rod torque seetings

I plan on changing the tie rod assembly on my 1993 600SEL. Does anyone know the correct torque settings for the tie rod?

Thanks
John

RE: Tie rod torque seetings

There is no torque setting on a tie rod, you just tighten it until it's tight. It has a self locking nut and only tightens up to a certain point, so there is no way you can over torque it.[^]

RE: Tie rod torque seetings

Alldata shows a torque setting of 50 Nm for the self-locking nut on a 1995 S600. I would think this is the same for your car.
