To answer some questions, the 92 system changed from a two piece to one unit, there is no interchange.
the speakers in the back are two ohm and are four of them and truly only kick in with bass, turn up the volume you should see "thumpkin coming out of them".
The speakers work very rarely. Basically, when the work, the stereo suddenly starts BLASTING (because my Mom usually has the radio turned up for some reason). I don't drive the car, so I can't really give a better explanation . . .
And yeah, it sucks without music in teh car [:(] We have been without music since September now [:(]
Well, it's not my car, or it would have been fixed long ago [:p] It is my Dad's car and he just doesn't want to spend money on it yet. Cottage renovations are more important right now . . .
OK, I ordered a bunch of caps (as per the instructions of a member on this board) and I had someone knowledgeable replace every single on of the 78 caps in the '93 amplifier. I plugged it in, and still the same problem :( Low output, and snap, crackle, pop. :(
It seems that all of the speakers are working now except for the driver's door, and the tweeter in the mirror.
Do you think there is a problem in the cap install? Or could my problem be somewhere else (such as the tuner)?
I can't remember the name of the guy that was helping me before with the instructions . . . I he is out there, please let me know :)
