RE: ABS ETS Help

Plenty of answers in this forum.

Perhaps a sensor or a box above the gas pedal.

RE: ABS ETS Help

Probably the brake pedal switch. Another common is the switch at the accelerator pedal. Give symptoms if any. If you have no symptoms, it's probably the brake pedal switch...

RE: ABS ETS Help

Hi all, I have changed the brake pedal switch. The mechanical said that he caned access the ABS system through the Smart Scan the Switch cost me $ 25 but the light extinguished just for one second and returned back. the mechanical then tell me that there is fault in the electrical system and the replacement switch is damaged to . so he is doing the checking to all the electrical wiring which will cost me about $ 1000 . to find what causing the problem. I return back home very sadly and disassemble the switch which he relapsed it But found it just push switch and there is nothing damaged in side it or any sine of burning material ?? any help argent.

RE: ABS ETS Help

Have you ever had the main wiring harness replaced? That year 140 had a factory harness designed to be biodegradeable. The only problem was that it degraded much quicker than MB expected I think. Anyway, they usually need replacing within the first 7 or 8 years of life. To my knowledge, the replacement harness does not have the degradeable feature. I also have a 95 S320 and I had to replace a couple of years ago. This will cause all kinds of electrical mishaps until you replace it. It is very expensive from the shop, I paid around $1800 because it did some other damage as well before diagnosed. What happens is the insulation around all of the wires that are bundled in the harness desintegrates leaving all the wires in the harness to short against one another. This may be your problem. There are other threads in this forum that show pictures. Just search on wiring harness.
