Another striking resemblance to the W220?

This car is called the Ford Five Hundred . . . even the name is similar to the S500!

Check it out . . .

Regards,
Bryan

yup, its the biggest ford sedan in europe
what the S is for mercedes, is the Mondeo for ford.

Hmmm . . . the mondeo . . . how long has this model been available in Europe? It is just going to be offered this fall in North America . . .

Ok all of you are wrong. That car is based off of the S80 platform and mimics the lines of an Audi A6 more than a Mercedes S500. There is no relation to a Taurus besides the Ford symbol. Also, the Jaguar S-type had nothing to do with a Ford Taurus. The Jag did have a heavily reworked Duratec motor though. Ford's only connection with Mondeo in the U.S. market was the Ford Contour and the Mercury Mystique. Look it up. [:D]

benz boy 07 is right. The US model Mercury Mystique and Ford Contour were besed on the Euro Mondeo (not very popular in the US). Mondeo has been 4sale (quite popular) in europe for about 10 years or so.

My Bad...I should have known better, I've rented enough of them in the UK...definitely a Mercury Mystique/Ford Contour. But I was under the impression that the new little Jag shared some platform similarities?

Oh I see, I thought you were talking about the S-type. I don't know a lot about the X-type, but I do think it is sharing a platform with Mondeo. So you're right in saying that.

I am pretty sure that the Lincoln LS shares a platform with the X-Type . . . can anyone back this up?
