central locking vacuum pump

hello i just recently imported a 1996 S500 with only 4500km on meter from belgium to sweden.. a thing related to AC was changed (i think it was indoor temp sensor or something, they said it costed ~200 euro) one thing they didnt fix was central locking, i have removed the back seat and investigated the pump and from what i can see (according to earlier postings) it is the newer pump type. it doesnt make a single sound when i start the car so i assume it just has to be replaced.. is there some way i can make suer this is the case? i think i found the fuse for it (under hood, marked as electric air pump) and changing it did nothing. there are many cables and hoses connected to it.. are there any special ones i can check current on or something to really make sure the pump has gone bad?

RE: central locking vacuum pump

thanks.
the 11) fuse was bad. only now it goes out every time i try to activate the central locking system by the remote door unlock. i suppose the pump has gone bad (perhaps by a leakage the pump didnt manage to compensate for?) a new pump has a 1000 euro list price a mb resaler here in sweden informed me, can this really be correct?
some suggestions on what my next step in trying to solve this problem should be?

RE: central locking vacuum pump

i got it working!
removed the pump, opened up the plastic bottom, removed the loose parts (pump, circuit board) and sprayed them all with some leading spray. all pump dependent mechanisms are now working perfectly again.

RE: central locking vacuum pump

Sound Good that your Center Lock Pump is working Now. My Suggestion if it get you in treble again you can change it to an electrical system because the Air Pressure Pump sound to get leak if used so many time in the same time , Because it require a Built up Pressure and that take time.
Any way keep us in Touch [:D]

Ok. Can you eloborate on the "...sprayed them all with some leading spray." What was the "leading spray" you used?
