Good morning gentlemen... my S320 6 cyl has collapsed engine mounts - I understand this is normal with almost 300,000kms. Vehicle is fine under load but vibrates at idle. Genuine Benz quote is AUS $400 each (X3 I think) & AUS $300 to fit. Can anyone advise whether mounts are available anywhere else? [:(]

Mercedes-Benz doesn’t make them their selves and i think it is FEBI that produce them.
I don't seem to have the FEBI number here, it is at work, but i will try to remember to bring the part catalogue home to night.

I have been thinking about doing this job on my 95 S500. The idle vibration is not too bad yet but the car has 100K+ miles and I'm sure the mounts could use replacement.
Anyone done the job themselves? I am concerned about doing a home garage job since I don't have a good way of raising up the motor to get the old mounts out and the new ones in. Can it be jacked from underneath or do I need to rent a motor lifter device (likely a little safer too).

Let me know. Thx
Outch i forgot it....
But yes it is a lot easyer if you have a motor lifter
I am about to do my W140, a S500 97 coupe. I don't have the motor lift and was thinking to do this with a board under the oil pan, a bottle jack and jack stands.
I am concerned about crushing the oil pan.
Has anyone done this from below or is it always better with a lift. What kind of lift? how hard are they to bring home?
Is autohausaz the best place to get parts?
Are Sachs-Boge good mounts?
I will takd PICs and Post if I go thru with this.
Thanks
