Can anyone help out with the Part Number of the High Pressure Hose that comes out (or goes to) the Power Steering box? I guess this is the same unit that feeds the Hydraulic suspension (load leveling?) system.
The leak (about 1 quart a month) appears to be seeping out of the front section of the hose assembly, where the threaded metal fitting is crimped onto the rubber hose. It's directly inboard of the driver's tire and slightly aft (behind) the pump reservoir.
I'm almost sure there's no repairing this item - it'll have to be replaced, but I can't bear the idea or the cost of taking it to a dealer. I'm sure we can replace the item for much less somewhere else.
Hi mb_500, I'm having the same problem with my car.
I'm going to order my part from www.*.com
They have OE parts, at very good prices!
I've ordered from them before try them out.
Just go to the site and put in your make and model, it will find the correct part for your car. Or you can call the 800 number listed on the page for help.
Let me know what happens, maybe we can swap fixes since we have the same year MB.
The high pressure hose should be 140 466 01 81. There is also a hose called Pressure Expansion, part number 140 320 14 72, that runs down about 6" and then toward the rear about a foot. It connects to the pump close to the high pressure hose and could also be a leakage source. I am not sure of its purpose but it is called out in my exploded view.
