Is it true the Maybach is based off the W140 chasis?
Some people on this forum had mentioned the Maybach is based off the W140 chasis? Is there any truth to this (any authoritative sources?)? Does anyone know what elements of the W140, if any, were incorporated into the Maybach? By the way, I was at the North American International Auto Show yesterday and the Maybach's interior refinements appeared to be superior to the Bentley or Rolls. The Maybach 62 stands out in contrast to the more modest 57 in terms of sheer size and rear compartment luxury.

Interesting enough, no one seems to have an answer for it. Early test mules were based on W140s... Maybe that leads ppl to believe it has W140 platform? But on closer look, Maybach is more of a big-brother to W220 than W140 in terms of technologies.
