With just about any engine cleaner/degreaser. It will leave a wet look afterwards. It smells a little like gasoline. Take a picture when you are done. It won't look this after a 20 minute drive! (While your engine components may be relatively clean, the "wet look" will evaporate with engine heat.)

All you need is like what he said, engine degreaser. In addition to that, I used a tootbrush and brake cleaning fluid, this works so well for spots where you cant put you hand. Just spay it and the oil, grease and dirt melts aways. Just remember to rinse right after where you use brake cleaning fluid.
Then, at the end, you use this engine glazing thing. It's like a clear coat for the engine. Everything is all shinny after that.
