Any day now may be a good day to "touch" your engine. I would start with removing the head cover and checking the timing chain stretch. Things can get real ugly when the chain is stretched too far or breaks.
I've got an 83 SD with 136k!
Anyway, car looks great, maybe one day I will reach that mileage.
Mercedes still has the mileage awards program in place.
If you call them, they will send you out the info.
How often do you adjust the valves?
