pulsing lights (help a newbie)

help?
my 1989 560sel has an odd problem.
there seems to be a voltage pulse when running.
the lights seem to pulse or flicker the fuel pump sounds like it is pulsing at the same time and the alternater makes a noise at the same sort of pulse rate. the engine also seem to "miss" at the same pulse rate.

any ideas to help a newbie to this forum[:(]

ive just take the fan belt of and the pulse problem disapeared.
checked the voltage regulator bushes one is a lot more worn than the other but they seem ok ish
any else had a problem like this
