Sticking accellerator

From time to time, when the engine is warm (never when it's cold) the accellerator sticks. If I tap it with my toe, it unsticks right away and returns to the "up" position. Both my local mechanic and the dealer have looked at it and lubricated whatever there is to lube in the linkage, but the problem continues. Mats are clear of the pedal, and a new pedal (the $10 rubber part) was installed over the summer and I've sprayed silicone on it's connection to the rod to no avail- seems not to be the problem. I just had my local guy disconnect the cruise control (which was appparently not working anyway). If that doesn't work, any other ideas I should try?

Re sticking throttle

A build up of carbon in the venturi causing the throttle flap to stick could be to blame.

Remove the air flow unit and clean the carbon off the venturi with brake cleaner.[:D]
