Which model and year do you have and did you take it to a AC shop or someone who knew what they were doing? The reason I ask is rather simple, it will take most of a day to do this with the system. People, including MB dealers, will try to short cut the process becuase this is one job where the labor bookrate is remarkably close to what it actually takes to do the task.
You need to recover the R12 (old gas); draw the system down; purge and clean the system; draw down again and check for leaks; charge the system, run it for about 30 minutes and recheck both high and low side pressures. If you skip any of these steps you've got probelms. Forgot, you also need to change the dryer and somethimes the evaporator out (new ones). The reason you do all this is because the two types of gas use two different types of oil for lubrication. If you have even trace amounts of the old oil in your system and the new gas and oil goes in you'll have pudding in your lines.
It could be that you simply need everything retightened and the charge topped off. Any good AC shop can do this for you and put a leak detector in that will show any other leaks after a couple of days of driving.
