Let me start by saying this is my first time at this forum, and I have read some of the archives which are very helpful.
Here's my situation: I locked the keys in the car which normally wouldn't be a problem if I had a spare, but I don't have a spare.[:(]
After spending about 15 minutes with a coathanger, I realized that the MB is extremely well-built. Before calling AAA, I wanted to see if there is a way to ground a solenoid somewhere to pop the lock. I read that the locks operate on a vacuum, so I'm not sure if it receives a ground like an electrical system does. I used to drive a Maxima, so it's a tad different to say the least.
Regardless, will a locksmith be able to open the door? Most of the key cutters I've been to say that they won't make MB keys. If they can't, will I have to break the window?
... I'm picking your situation is probably genuine, .. but a dumber assed question I have never seen on this forum.
Did you seriously expect a "how to break into our car" answer???!!
Hahaha...true, shrimpton, but give the poor guy a break.

If you are covered by AAA, just let them deal with it. Otherwise, go to mercedes dealer, prove you own the car (current registration plus license usually works) and they can mail you a new key. Coste money though, but if you don't have a spare, might as well.

I was more looking for advice and a general answer to my question rather than a step-by-step on how to steal a w126.
I will call AAA, but I did not want to wait 2 hrs for them to show up and then they not be able to open a MB because they could not cut a key. Just wondering if people had experience similar to mine in which a locksmith was able to do the job in 15 minutes...
On cars with electric locks, you can hind a ground wire somehwere on the outside of the car in case you lock your keys in. On my Maxima, it was not a problem for me since I had a keypad on the door anyway to unlock, etc, but it's a simple secure solution provided that no one sees you do it.
Well, problem solved. It took a locksmith about 15 minutes to do it.

Supercharged, you can lock the SEL doors by closing the front doors and locking it from the rear seat. Since you have an SEC, that would not work for you, unless perhaps you locked it through an open window.

The SEL won't let you lock the driver's door without the key either, but you CAN lock it by pushing down the lock on the passenger door and the rear doors, so it's possible to do... just not terribly easy.

If the key is still in the ignition, the driver door won't lock. I've tried it.
