For all those with big rims and wide tyres, do your rims touch your tie rods in front? If so, is it when you drive over potholes?

Mine don't rub at all.
I got them from SheepAlert.

When I put my 140 rims on, they ALMOST rubbed the TRE, but never did.
However, I had to use spacers because they rubbed the calipers.

Aren't the stock rims a 14x7 22mm offest???
I know that stock tire size is 185/70/14...

I am trying to put some 16inchers so I'll get a bit more tread and better handeling. The size is 8X16 225/55-16 is that too big? Thank you for your help.

Those should be fine, but what's the offset???

I've been told that my Lorinsers are 16x8 11mm offset.

Hi.

I have 18x8 and never had a problem with rubbing. I do use spacers, as our original offset is 25 mm and my wheels are 37 mm, but never had a problem with them, either.

I don't quite remember how to do it, but I know there is very detailed and technical explanation of offset measurements at the Tire Rack website.

On the tire size question for the 16", I believe 225/60/16 would be a more appropriate size, but that is just me.

That's a much bigger diameter than the orig.
225/50/16 is pretty close to 185/70/14.
If you jump to a 60 profile, and raise the width, it increases the overall height quite a bit.
