is the where you connect the hose to recharge tha a/c with freeon and do you use the R124A stuff in a can??

The hose the arrow is pointing to looked to me as the power steering pressure hose. The freon unit should be located infront of the radiator, on the lower right.

The blue cap is covering the low side A/C port. Your 88' originally came with R-12, and unless it has been retrofitted to R134A you will need to either convert it or find some R12 to top it off with. BTW the high pressure port is down behind the drivers side headlight on the reveiver dryer. It should have a red cap on it.

Go to napa and get some freeze twelve, its 7 bucks a can plus 6 bucks for the 2oz can of oil.
