Exhaust note

Anybody here have a sound clip or can make a sound clip of their new exhaust note with a new muffler, like Remus or something. It would be great info for people want to hear it before changing the muffler.

I'm gonna change my exhaust soon, no-cat, no resonators and with a Remus exhaust, do you guys think it's gonna be very loud?

You read my mind. I just ordered a Remus for my 560, should be here tomorrow maybe. Cats are coming off too, but I am still agonizing over the resonators.

The guy who sold it to me said that with the resonators it will not sound much different from stock. And without the resonators it will be deep and throaty.

I fear too much "drone" when driving at highway speeds without the resonators.

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't want my car to be so loud, it's not a Mustang. I was a nice idle, not too loud from OEM, then, when you step on it, a nice throaty exhaust note. Let's hope some ppl here can have sound clips.

380 exhaust

I accidentally ripped both mufflers off going down a dirt road. I had to have it straight piped because the quote for new mufflers was $1000US. It now sounds like a chevy 377-stroker with dual Flowmasters. Its loud, but it sounds sweet as well, about 2500-3500 rpm.

I accidentally ripped off my cat and resonators tonight. Managed to repair it with two straight pipes, I am amazed that it is only very slightly louder than stock, and it looks great. I was really hoping it would rumble a bit, but there is really not much difference in sound, maybe 10-12% louder.

Definite increase in power, easily squeals the tires from a standing start now, used to have to use the brake to set it up, but not now.

Might have to accidentally stick a screwdriver in my one remaining muffler to get some sound out of it. [:D]

The "hoon*" in me loves your spirit..

..Dunno whether this translates to where you live, but* means - the boy racer part of me[8D] I have always wanted to know how my car would be with nothing but big bore pipe between manifold and tailpipe, but like most of us, am too wary to try myself[:O]
