use manufacturer fluid for the tranny and diff. use only mercedes for these applications. for oil and coolant it doesnt matter, oh but it does for brakes...so stick with manufacturer for brakes too.

I got my tranny and diff fluids from Autozone, just be sure they are the same consistancy (weight and composition) as the OEM fluids. try to get a hand pump when changing the diff fluid, the fill hole is at an odd angle and may be hard for you to pour the fluid in.
The diff fill hole uses an odd size Allen key. Ask me if you can't find the right size for it, i'll look it up.
Make sure you don't overfill the tranny fluid (check both cold and hot levels). Over filling tranny fluid may damage the tranny more than under filling slightly.
From what I understand, automatic transmissions carry A LOT MORE transmission fluid than manual transmissions.
Will my two gallon oil pan be able to hold all the transmission fluid that comes out once that bolt is loosened or do you recommend siphoning it out.
I've got a topsider that I use to change oil. Does a great job of siphoning out oil. It's capacity is about 2 gallons. More than enough for changing oil.
I also don't have access to a lift, but do have car ramps. I'm thinking of just backing up the car onto these ramps and then putting wheel chokes on the front wheels so the car doesn't get away from me. Bad idea?
