Engine number location - Benzworld.org

Hi All,

I'm the new proud owner of a 84 AMG widebody 500sec.
I'm attempting to get it registered, but i (and the mechanic) can't find the engine number on the block!

Can anyone descibe to me the location of this??

drivers side head, if you follow the rocker cover all the way back, then look down about 10 inches and facing you will be a number 116..117..
