Hi, I am just curious as to why somebody would want to buy one of those badges when they are free-of-charge from Mercedes-Benz USA when you reach 250,000km?
My 1982 300D has 340,000 miles on it and MB USA issued me both the 250,000km, and the 500,000km badges along with the tie-pin and other certificates for free!!!
By the way, I'm selling that 1982 300D and my 1986 300SDL if anyone is interested...
No, you can get the badge and the certificates and the tie pins not being the original owner. If you are the original owner you get more goodies. I bought my 300D with 309,000 miles and got both sent to me. So call them up and get yours!!! [:)]
If you fall under the jurisdiction of Mercedes-Benz USA, then you get a badge at 250,000km (About 160,000 miles), 500,000km (About 312,000 miles), and 1,000,000km (About 620,000 miles). Call MB USA customer service and tell them you would like a badge. Note that you have to get a High Mileage Award form from your nearest major dealer, but I got one mailed to me from my nearest Mercedes-Benz Club officer. After you fill out the form and get it signed by the master technician at the dealer, you mail it to MB USA and then a few weeks later you get your badge.
I got mine within 6 weeks, however they have been known to take a LONG time to get delivered.
If you actually drove that many miles you get a TON of goodies from MB, but if you just happen to own one with that many miles you get the badge and a certificate. For the 500,000 you also get a cool tie pin, but that's about it.
