Flowmaster is getting installed unless convinced otherwise

Went to a local shop, asked for a loud but not tinny sound, and they told me to get the flowmaster. Apparently its going to like a muscle car or a big truck...don't know how much truth is in that but it seemed like a trustworthy shop. Here's a rundown of the price:
Flowmaster (2.25in/2.25out) = 172.00
Tail pipe w/ tip (single tip): 50.00
Y pipe: 78.50
For a total of about 310.00 including install
He gave me the option of a dual-tip for an extra 70.00, but I don't think it's really worth it.
Now my question....will I be satisfied with this setup? I'm a teen so I do like loud cars, but any comments on the quality of flowmasters?
I'll try to record some sounds after its done...installation will happen in 2-3 weeks as I have a flood of tests right now.

since you are doing the entire exhaust you may as well spend an extra 200 and get the best you can. Do an h or x pipe from the exhaust manifold and give the car dual flowmasters with tips. That would be BAD ASS. Curious, why are you changing the y-pipe?
Thanks for the reply sebastian. However, this is stretching my car budget as a high school student as it is....and any more and I may be broke until college. I am accepting donations lol.
I'm not sure why I'm doing the y-pipe to tell you the truth, the guy just said they had a custom pipe to put in it. I think I'll trust their advice (unless this is bad for my car?), as they just did a 4,000 exhaust job on a viper and a really nice job on a bentley.
I guess I'll stick to the Flo's...I really don't want to go through the hassle of ordering online and bringing it to a shop to install.
BTW...do you think it would look weird to see a w126 with only one tip, instead of dual? Apparently it would be dual that merges into one? I really don't see the need for an extra 70 dollars just for another tip.
Flowmasters are ok, but if you want the real accurate amg sound, buy sebring mufflers. Theya are about the same price. They made all teh amg exhausts in the 80's and are now working with amg on the new 55 cars exhaust. The sound is un-mistakable amg.
I think everyone can agree with me that you DO NOT need a custom y-pipe since everything is getting welded in. Second, a tip should not be $70. That is WAYYYYYY too much for just a tip. Try a couple other places...
Thanks for the heads-up. It's not 70.00 for just a tip, it's 70.00 to have a dual exhaust (if I don't pay 70.00 more, it's just a dual that merges into a single.....if I pay 70.00 it stays a dual....some weird technical stuff that flew over my head)
I'll check around and post back the results.

I'm telling you, I got the high school rap 2 years ago when I put my tips on. I just had 2 tips welded on for $100. There is nothing technical. The flowmaster should be a dual exhaust anyways. What series are you getting?
Re: I'm telling you, I got the high school rap 2 years ago when I put my tips on. I just had 2
I'll check out a few more shops this weekend and make another decision (maybe it won't be a flowmaster after all?)....good thing I didn't prepay for the 310 dollar service. Once my auction for my mp3 player on ebay ends....I'll be seriously getting some estimates.
Is there a certain series I should be asking for?
