This past week I noticed a gas smell in the cabin when stopped at lights. It disappears when driving.
I removed the air filter housing this morning to inspect the EHA and sure enough it's leaking. Before I pull the trigger on a new part ($$$), I thought I'd check here in case anyone has a spare one they could sell me.
I've not had much luck with used ones. Once old, they don't seem to like being removed and refitted, what with the adjusting too that might be needed.
I thought the price for a new one was fine to avoid the risk. Worth a thought.
Thanks all. There is a definitely a small (drip, drip) leak, coming from the seam between the FD and the EHA, but there is also gas on the side where the weep holes are. It's hard to tell if it is leaking from both areas, or whether that's just gas dripping from the FD/EHA seam.
I ended up ordering the O-rings alone, thinking I would try them first. Then I gave it some more thought in the afternoon and went ahead and ordered a new EHA as well. I will still try the O-rings first, and return the new EHA if that solves the problem. But I won't hold my breath: looking through the threads, the consensus seems to be that it's rarely the O-rings alone causing the problem.
