1980 euro 280SE, does it have the big fuse strip in the engine bay like Gen II that is for the heater fan? Cant find one. the regular fuse for heater fan is good.
I'm going to check my 1983 later tonight. (Edit: oops. 1986) I'm pretty sure there's a fuse box near the brake booster on the gen1 cars, and I think the blower might be in there.
My buddy Kevin says he's excited about the idea of flying out and trying to drive it home for me (instead of the logical shipping). I told him about the heater issue, and we came up with the grand plan of sending him out with the parts to repair it. LOL.
Here he is in a 1989 300se he picked up for me.

On my 1983 380se (EDIT: 1986 300se) euro with similar heating controls (I think), fuse #5 in the engine compartment near the brake booster is the heater fuse.
Generation one cars are pretty different so it may not compare, not sure. Those fuse diagrams are really cheap from the dealer if anyone ever wonders/needs their correct deets.
Wasn't the strip fuse added at the dealers after sale, on some cars?
I'm not sure why, but in the tapatalk app, I just see a broken image link. On my iphone I see a small broken image. On my computer where I am now, I don't see much of anything.
Is there another way to find the image? I see the link starts with https. Maybe it's secure. I've removed the "S" in this quote. Let's see.
Not in any way to single you out, but thats the thing about the hosted images.. If someone's account changes.. or the host site changes.. we BenzWorld members lose the benefit for our archives…. :/
I've seen it all too often on these pages.. Its a shame that people's hard work documenting some widget or other gizmotron gets lost forever….
I trust you can find the originals easily enough and that you've not lost all to Google.
