Thank you for the reply dear Mclare. It is for sale.they are asking 10.000 USD.it has 268.000 km.First owner. Chauffeured for entire period.Rarely used in last 4 years due to a newer S class.Garage kept...lets see if l can bag it...Will keep you updated.
One thing,
Owner ( actually the driver ) claiming the car has its original paint at least 90 %...
One of my friend will go and see it.it is around 1000 km away from me
O like in fact drooled the color combo.Very hard to come by here. The condition looks also fair.
I know but it has been said it has nade these miles mainly on the highway. The thing is the city the car belongs is simply far away from main attraction points like capital city and Istanbul....so l think and judging by the pictures it is true.Highway milage wouldn't hurt the car as stop and go traffic.
Actually is not that bad as it looks: he said 268K Km, which comes down to only 166.5k miles. Also let's keep in mind that we are indeed spoiled in US with prices on these cars, based on what others have said here in the past, almost anywhere else prices appear to be higher.
Maintenance would be an important bargaining point, how it looks in reality vs. pictures, how well everything functions, condition of the chrome, condition of the burl wood/zebrano, how soon it will need tires, battery, etc. I would say that if he is asking 10k USD, probably with cash in hand ~9K it would be a good offer.
Thanks comrades.l do not know if l mentioned it earlier but if l can get this one my dream collection will be completed.l already have a 600SEL and a 450SEL so l am only missing a 560SEL.After this it will be all complete. So let'shope for the best.As for this particular car.l really liked itvthe way car is presented. It is all stock, unmolested and original.Being used by a company owner single person and taken care by the driver is all good.I don't worry about the milage.I really like the interior color. It is just reminding me the old W100 Grosser 600 with the black paint and palomino interior.I also recall very nice pictures of nice W116 tith the same combination
Update. My friend will inspect the car today and send me new pictures.vin number is going to be clear so l can check. The car was not involved in a crash since 2003 so says the official trafic records..well...lets see...maybe we will have nice comparison stories side by side with our own S class flagship sedan fleet Fingers crossed
Nope.I simply didn't enjoy that car.I tried everything to make it more enjoyable but it did not give me any driving pleasure.I am now sure the car has to be pristine and unmolested no matter it is a short or a long w.b one.
This one l am after is from the first original owner and looking much better than the 560SE l previously had.To compare l will share the pre purchase pictures of the swb 560 here.
Thank you comrade. What a difference in condition of the two wehicle...It received a full body treatment and full re-spray.New tires, battery all vacuum hoses, plugs, wires, distributor, new full exhaust pipes and mufflers, headlights, taillights, blinkers and much more items....All that time money and efforts...But still no...couldn't make a decent car out of it and finally sold it.
This new case will be clear by tomorrow or the day after...will share here.Fingers cross.
Whoa! Didn't realize the SE was that rusty. Can't really blame you for selling it, then. I just don't think it was mentioned at the time... :dunno:
Same reason why I sold my Euro 500SE some years ago. No rust on body panels, but the rear package shelf was too far gone and some of the cancer had already spread also onto the trunk. Still miss that car a lot. I'm just a big fan of SEs.
Yes the car was in a poor state. It has all been vured but in the process so much dismantling and hassle has got me decided to give it away...I love LWB since the "sailing like a boat feeling" is more there...Also since l have pristine 140 600SEL l can not help my self comparing my rides to it.This is also one of the reason l couldn't help myself selling it.
Hope this 560 lwb is an unmolested one.
Thanks.
Situation is a bit tricky. The car as you know is not advertised anywhere. So we had chase the real owner. So far we cojld only dealt yhe drivers or the third persons. We finally find the second in command and he will ask the boss tomorrow. So l will get my answer before noon, hopefully.Maybe the car won't be even for sale...well we'll see. There are so many local people chasing this car.It belongs to a very wealthy local person. He is widely known in the region. What l have been told is many others are calling him for this car and he is kinda pissed.
So we are trying to soften him and convince him to give it to us for a reasonable price.
These people are very hard to communicate and hard to deal with. When someone is wealthy this kind of matters are not important for them...you know how it is...But we find some friend to him and he confirmed that the car is bought brand new by this people and rarely used...
40 people wants to marry a girl but only one takes her...so this is our bride now...we are running after her
Fingers crossed
Congratulations! Is always good to see a nice W126 going to a home that appreciates it. We look forward to all those pictures you promised us earlier ...
Thank you.I drove it only to the transportation station. They will deliver tge car in Thursday. But boy oh boy...
This is not my first 126 or 560...
What a solid car this one is.Now l know the true potential of these fine 126 series. My previous 126 s were the left over from what was once a S class. This is absolutely stunning. The engine is so smooth and quite ,you can hardly hear it.Every piece of the interior is so robust and untouched.I am very happy with it.
