. . . on his sedan, instead of the greyish one that comes from the factory? If so, where did you get it? I've been advised by a body shop and a dealer that painting the insert black would be a mistake, since the paint would chip and wear. But I think the black would look a lot sharper than grey. (I mean a grille insert just like the original sedan part, not an SEC or SEC-replacement.)
Thanks in advance,
Here is a pic of my 126 with a black grill. The only area where chipping has ocurred is where the hood release lever pops out as you can probably see in the pics. I have done about 3k miles since it was painted with no problems at all. I did mine myself with high temp enamel.

http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/mattpete/car%20front.jpg

Matt.
Whoa...that is interesting. I like the sound/video system...very nice. I don't really like the smoked head lights...the clear looks so much better. BTW, was it a 420 or 560? I put a set of exhaust tips on my benz, i think it would look good on your too. Looks sweet!
The clear corners and euro headlights look good and thats about it really.

The 'amg lights' and rims dont suit the car at all. The interior does not look rite with the tv screen.

No offence - but that is is my personal opinion.

The exhaust system is expensive enough as it is -drilling holes in it to add tips would just ruin the exhanust.

My wife would kill me if I did what you did. I showed it to her and her reaction was: pimp mobile!
Hey I thaught for a second this is the woman that liked my RX7 that is sooped up, seats converted to MOMO and etc... now she thinks that a benz all dressed up is very taky. hmmmm
Anyway, I am thinking of puting a pair of dice thingies up the visor just to see her reaction before she hopes in the car. LOL
Thanks for the insperation eventhough I will probably keep the original borring looks on the family 560.
that is one of the great things about living in the usa, you can do what you want, all feedback is welcome if you like it that's cool, if you don't like it that's cool too, i enjoy being different, could you imagine what this world would be like if everyone looked the same, cars are no different, personally i love the benzo's souped up and i like them stock. in a couple of weeks i am having the entire trunk customized like in the car magazines, i bet some hairs will be standing on the back of mercedes owners world wide, guess what, it's all goood!
your right - its ur car and u can do what eva u like to it. In a way its nice to be different and stand out from the crowd. itsz good to see that u r a reasonable guy and can take positive and negative feedback - as long as ur happy with the car thats all that matters.
