300 SE uneven engine noise at 4000-6500 rpm HELP!!
Hey everyone. I have a 91 300 se. It has 50000 miles and its maintained excellent. Anyways, when its about 70 degrees out everything is fine. When u start the car and drive it car its fine. BUT WHEN it gets hot out at high rpm's the car has a horrible uneven engine sound like there is an ignition problem or something. Maybe its the mixture? Im not sure, but to try to resolove this I made a cold air intake which replaced the whole intake box under the hood with chrome piping and a cone filter. It adds a great sound which is deep, and helped my low end but this noise is puzzling me. Thanks!!
