~Turbo Diesel~Please Read!

I have a 1990 Mercedes Benz 350SDL and it has a factory turbo in it. I was wondering if I could put a blow off valve on it... Does anyone know if that's possible... Thanks~!

Yeah go stick a Blitz Super Sound BOV on it. LoL j/k. Don't do that. The car wasn't designed to be used with an atmospheric venting BOV. A Recirculating bypass valve is on the car for a reason. It doesn't make the car run rich. You don't bog with a BPV like you would with a BOV. If you really want some performance, goto TurboXS.com and order a manual boost controller. It'll help the turbo spool faster and give you a lot more torque.

What do you mean by BOV? What's the recirculating bypass valve? BPV? Manual Boost Controller? Well my friend is trying to hook me up with a TurboXS BOV H-RFL. So that means I can't add a blow off valve to my Benz? Please explain to me, I don't know much about my Benz's engine... Thanks STi RA!

I don't believe that it's sound judgement to attempt to re-engineer a car like a Mercedes or a Porsche. In general, you're better off assuming that the Mercedes engineers have designed the car properly, and leave well enough alone. If you're dissatisfied with the car's performance, you may want to think about trading it in on something that's performance oriented (and that doesn't include diesels).

Well, a BOV=Blow off Valve. You will be SLOWER with the blow off valve, believe me. The Benz Turbodiesel engine was NOT designed to use the BOV. I have a WRX with a lot of Turbo XS stuff on it, if you don't believe me send a e-mail to Mark at Turbo XS and ask him if it's a good idea. He's a straight up guy, and he'll tell you it's not a good idea on a Mercedes Benz. Now, if you had a turbo'd Integra, Civic, etc go for it.
