About time Tim in NZ got his SEC track coupe back in action
The M119 6.3litre engine is stronger than ever and the SEC coupe near ready to do battle on the tarmac once again!!!!
It has been some 3-4yrs in hibernation as other projects got in the way but she has awoken and is now meaner and angrier than before - the most modified high output N/A M119 on this planet
Click on the short vid below and turn up your sound!!!

Tim's coupe is one of the most highly modified SEC's for club track racing that we know of and it comes with a great story of ownership going back some 15yrs or more as his pride & joy road car before deciding to race it from about 2009 onwards
Here is an old clip with the a previous pretty well stock M119 engine in it before the real bad-ass beast was built that we now see.

It will be interesting to see what the latest dyno readouts come out like with the new intake system and further development work on taming the noise level without losing 100 or so HP due to muffler restriction to flow (Magnaflow just didn't work)

The tried and proven engine with race miles under its belt already is a hybrid 6.3 litres comprised of an M119-960 block bored to 102mm / custom forged Wiseco pistons / M117 crank / M117 conrods / Heads ported & flowed to 751hp @ 500thou lift / 102mm cable operated throttle body / custom intake /
Custom headers dumping into twin 4inch system / Lynx ECU / Toyota R154 manual box / Custom steering rack conversion / custom coilovers all round / dry sump oil system / The M119 engines have a very poor oil supply to big ends because the block oil gallery supply holes are too small and the main bearing does not get enough oil to feed it at high revs, So the block is line bored and grooving behind all the main bearings and drilled top bearings to increase oil flow / WB rims and the list goes on

Some more pics for those who have not seen these before

A few more pics of this highly modified coupe
The M119 engine has 4 valves per cylinder with 8 exhaust ports per cylinder head

What impresses me is that its running an M117 crank and conrods and this engine is regularly banging 7,500rpm thru the gears and gets pushed to the limits on the track with no reliability issues after it completed a few seasons racing before Tim stepped away from racing for a few years.
It will be interesting to see the dyno charts from fine tuning before he hits the track again but if i recall he was already pushing 600hp before with its previous intake system and restrictive muffler issues to contain the noise level.

A few pics of the old intake system

Not sure who's drifter that is?
Just to show you the level of fabrication skills Tim has when working with both metal and fibreglass/carbon fibre or plastics
Take a look at the work that he put into his custom M119 intake system after ditching the 4 x throttle body set up and going rammed air 102mm single T/body with a complex side-draft runners within a decent air-chamber and all weighing "very little"

Tim I can't wait to see this in the flesh, as amazing as the photos are I bet they pale in comparison to the actual steel, alloy, plastic, glass and rubber that this monster machine is comprised of.

For once being at the bottom of the world has its benefits!

Long live the SEC and long live Tim's incredible work....Amen.

Some more tasty pics of the underneath beefy exhaust work Tim fabbed up for the beast to breath properly at 7,500rpm!!!
Enjoy

Have you noticed in the above pics and below that Tim has ditched the factory dogbone caster rod mount arrangement in favour of his custom more solid/direct mount for track use
